rjhatcher Although the lyrics obviously aren’t quite finished, I almost prefer this to the final mixes. The chorus is reminiscent of Talking Heads, and the outro is incredible — it’s like Secret World part 2, and would’ve served as a great final track to round off the album. Favorite track: Olive Tree (Band Session).

kiks2019 This is a great band session, sounds like a really fun jam. The guitar in the outro part is really what I was hoping was included in the final mix. This is what I felt gave the live version that extra kick. Should have considered using that brilliant outro section in the studio version. I can hear these demos and alt versions being used in remixes

raelisreal I love all the exclusive tracks Peter's giving us. They are fantastic and they're also a great insight into the evolution of every song.

narleigh Finally, a listenable version of this lovely song. The two previous masters were much too hot sounding for my ears.

Carsten Pieper Having spoken about breathing-room for the music praising the Dark-Side-Mix, this one has much more of that. It also is considerably longer than the final version, so there's also more room - or jamming time - for the musicians. This might well be my favourite version of the song!

umalight Very niceversion. I like the more rough spirit of it, mainly for the chorus part which is a bit too"cheesy" for my taste in the official releases. I just wish this version would get the final vocals and a proper mix by Tchad Blake

about

The Bandcamp version of Olive Tree comes from the band session, recorded at Real World Studios:

'It was one of my favourite moments for the band to get loose and groove. I write long things anyway, but I always extend the end as very often the band relax when they get to the end of the song and then suddenly the playing becomes something else, so if you've got some groove for them to do their thing then you can have a lot of fun with it.' - pg
